Javanese Massage

In Singapore you can get a Javanese massage if you go to a swanky spa and pay at least fifty bucks for a thirty minute session.

In Java you can get it cheaply at a parking lot.

The masseur ain't cute though :P

A Long Sleep

A Buddha head is cradled by tree roots on the grounds of Wat Mahathat in Ayutthaya, Thailand.

Archaeologists believe the head was decapitated by temple looters after the fall of this ancient capital. When it proved too heavy to carry they left it on the ground where it was eventually embraced by this growing tree. The whole process took more than a hundred years.

The Undefeatable City

That's the meaning of "Ayutthaya", the name of the Thai kingdom that flourished along the Chao Phraya river in the 14th century. In 1767 it was sacked by the Burmese after a month-long siege:

This is what's left of it.
