
Chinese street opera artists (locally known as wayang) prepare for curtain-call at a show in Singapore. These folks typically set up shop - usually a canvas tent with a stage on one end - in empty fields during certain dates on the Taoist calendar.
Back in the days before TV, they were treated like showbiz royalty. Last night, they played to an audience of about a dozen aging people.
