Night Over KL

The sun falls behind two of Kuala Lumpur's signature landmarks:



The observation deck of the KL Tower in the background is actually higher than that of the Petronas towers in the foreground, thanks to the Bukit Nanas hill which it stands over. The view from the former is much nicer, too...

There's no business like...

showbusiness, wayang style.



Chinese street opera artists (locally known as wayang) prepare for curtain-call at a show in Singapore. These folks typically set up shop - usually a canvas tent with a stage on one end - in empty fields during certain dates on the Taoist calendar.

Back in the days before TV, they were treated like showbiz royalty. Last night, they played to an audience of about a dozen aging people.
